check connection to the batter are clean and tight. Check connections to the starter as well but remove the positive cable first is removing the connection to clean and reinstall. check the ground connection to the block ( this grounds the starter ) . check to make sure the starter relay is clicking when you turn thee key. Are you sure it was out of gas or could the fuel pump relay have failed or fuel pump?
