safety and reliability
I live in Salt Lake City and have to deal with wintry conditions here and there. I
don't live in the mountains, so it's not some constant, deep snow, off-road
situation, but the weather does get bad at times, and I want to feel as safe as
possible. I am looking at used vehicles and I have heard so many different
opinions. AWD vs 4WD. SUV vs Truck. Ford, Toyota or Subaru. Winter Tires or
All-Weather Tires. And on and on. Can someone give me some clarity on what
I really need? I just want to be able to drive down the highway with my 2yr old
in the back, and feel safe. Thank so much.
I would get an AWD car and use a good all season tire. For really good snow traction get tires with the severe duty mountain/snowflake symbol on the sidewall.
