Are sedans bad in the snow?

Asked by GuruN2V5J Nov 07, 2019 at 01:20 AM

Question type: General

My family is thinking about getting a car for college. My mother says she
wants to get an SUV for safety, especially in the snow, but I detest driving
huge cars and hate the poorer gas mileage. I want to get a used, small
sedan that is okay in the snow (I'm alright not driving when there's a foot or
more of snow and waiting until the roads get plowed). Is a crossover a
compromise and what are good crossovers with awesome mileage?

Snow traction is all about tires and if you have AWD or 4WD or not. Look for a smaller AWD SUV like a Subaru, Honda CRV etc. Subaru also has AWD sedans.
