Serpentine belt for a 98 Ford ranger

The serpentine belt for a 98 Ford ranger 3.0
with air conditioning mounting unit, it seems
to be too small/tight it is shredding about an
eighth of an inch in. Twice now can I get a
half a size up will it work??? Please help

Check your pullies for damage or if any are stuck. The belt you have should be right size unless the store gave you the wrong one.
