Mazda 3 hatchback 2015 - keyless entry

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

One morning, I found my car battery dead.  When
my friend helped me get a jump, he told me that it
was because I had left my car in park, even
thought I had shut off the engine and used the
emergency break.

I’ve never heard of this happening and I’ve even
left my car(different car) in drive before without
getting a dead battery.

Thoughts??  Thanks!

You probably left something else on or you have a parasitic draw (short). If it is okay now check it in a few days. If it goes dead again soon you probably burned up the internal voltage regulator inside the alternator running the vehicle on a low charged battery or you still have a draw. always have a fully charged battery before you drive the car to protect the alternator
