Considering buying a car I found on Cargurus. The dealership would like me to contact them directly (my first contact was thru Cargurus). Car is out of state. I do not understand the advantages of working a transaction through Cargurus. Do you transfer clean titles, transfer funds, etc.? Is it OK to talk with dealership outside of Cargurus, cut a deal, then use Cargurus for transfering funds and title?

You would either work outside the Cargurus system or in it. Not both.

If you are looking to buy private then look at this link: https://cargurus.helpscoutdocs.com/category/6-shopping-for-a-car But if you want to continue with the dealership then go outside of Cargurus and they will handle the paperwork including the title.
