Hello, I have a 2001 Mercury Sable. Check Engine light came on, it's idiling
high. We have replaced the IAC, as suggested but it's still the same? Does
anyone have any other suggestions??

The problem might not have been the IAC valve, but something else. Possible causes for your code: •Faulty Idle Air Control (IAC) valve •IAC valve harness is open or shorted •IAC valve circuit poor electrical connection •Intake leaks •Stuck PCV Valve

ok thank you, also i have noticed, the gauge that shows hot and cold, stays in the middle, it never goes down, even when the car is sitting cold. It doesn't overheat either, the needle just stays in the middle. As soon as I step on the gas my cat goes to 2000 RPM's.


Defective temperature sensor, sending unit, or gauge. I don't know what a spinning cat is.
