I don't know year--make--model? Check voltage and ground. Not knowing what vehicle you have, I can't look up wiring diagrams? Don't touch bulb with bare hand, use dry clean glove. If ground is a chassis ground, just use a redundant ground. On different components, I've done this several times, no problems. You may need to replace wiring circuits, voltage and ground. I need more vehicle info? My US automotive database will only cover vehicles sold in the US. good luck
