What model vehicle do you have? Maybe the pump isn't the issue. Do you have a 12V source at the pump?

My 1990 Alantee acts like it is not getting gas. I can shoot starting fluid in the air filter and the car runs fine until the fluid burns out. I checked the fuses in the center console and they are OK. This happened after the security system went off as a result of me changing a dead battery. I was wondering if there are 2 possibilities preventing the car from running. 1 â Did the factory security system cause my fuel pump to deactivate? And do I need to reset it??? Or 2 â could I have blown a fuse someplace when I changed batteries? I suspect the fuel pump has no power because when I turn the key, I can not hear the pump. I have something to state: I've asked How to bypass the Anti Theft system in my car. The responses I am receiving are becoming rude. I'm not trying to steal my own car. The car doesn't start anymore. It almost turns over but doesn't stay start. Instead of having to replace the Fuel Pump I was trying to reset the Anti Theft System. I asked how to by pass the system and am being accused of trying to steal cars. If I had the money to take it to the dealer, I would!!! I can't seem to reset it if that is why it is not starting. So ya thanks for judgments!?m 9 Answers

I wanted to by pass / reset the Anti Theft System to see if it would start, before I have to replace the Fuel Pump. All I have received is snide comments and accusations of stealing cars.

the battery light came on car was running but lights went out . Checked the battery fuild it was low. add water..not sure if i should have and had someone jump start it and everything ran for a few min and lights. Then the car died. should I go buy a new battery or is it something else wrong? 3 Answers
