2006 Pontiac vibe standard shift

The car will not start it has a new
battery all the dashboard lights
come on but when you engage the
clutch the engine does not turn over
but it will start if you push start it,
can someone help me please.

I think the new battery became discharged because the alternator is not working. Charge the battery up so it will crank/start. Have the alternator tested for free at an auto parts store if you can get there. It doesn't take much voltage to light the dash or run the engine, but cranking a starter takes a lot more. Possibly the battery you replaced was not really "dead", just deeply discharged. Don't replace anymore batteries....the problem is the alternator.
