Serpentine belt broke drove it
home over heated real bad put
new belt on now it has a very bad
knock and verly runs. What'
happen to moter

Severe overheating probably caused all sorts of internal damage. You can have a mechanic evaluate it but I think the engine is scrap. It may not be rebuildable.

Sounds like you threw a rod. Bad news. I cannot imagine what tempted you to operate the vehicle without its main belt((.
