Current tires are 245 40 R18. Want to put 255
40 R18 on the car. Will I have issues?

You can usually get by going one size wider. If you do have any problem it will only happen on when you turn the steering wheel to the full left or right. Only time you would use that is when doing parking maneuvers, normal driving you would never go lock to lock on steering.
