Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car needs a new water pump. Is it
worth it to repair? I've been told it's too
much labor. My car never overheated,
had any kind of smoke,, it ran
beautifully until the day it died. What
can I expect to pay? Or should I just try
to sell it?

You know your car and would miss it. Water pump replacement would cost about half the value of the car, probably over $1,000. But then you'd have a car you know fixed. If you consider replacing the car, you'll end up with a car that you don't know, and it could have a water pump go out soon too.
