01 Dodge Stratus Issue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

01 Dodge Stratus with no lights on or any warning signs, shut off on the
interstate. Everything was normal, when my car skipped and shook; my rpms
shot down and my check engine light came on. I had no control over my gas
and was able to pull my car over to the side of the highway. Once I stopped
my car the check engine light went off and I shut it off. I went to go restart it
and it turns over and makes a sound but will not start. Does anyone know
what could cause this? Please help!

Same thing happened to my 06 dodge stratus. It turned out it was the fuel pump. When you go to start there should be a sound coming from your gas tank like a clicking sound if you dont here that then its the fule pump.
