Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Chevy 2500 Duramax. The front
differential has a vacuum line fitting but there is no
vacuum line hooked up to it. Is there supposed to
be and what does that vacuum line do?

I think you may be looking at the differential vent the hose usually just went to a steel tube on the left frame rail, in the rust belt those tubes lasted about 6 years.
