Question type: General

I have the Accord Coupe(05)V6 with 244HP.My question is why does this engine only have 212 foot lbs. of torque.My 04 Grand PrixGTP had 260hp,but it had 280 foot lbs. of torque.The torque is what makes the car really pull and hard charge.Why such low torque in Honda engines?

Honda has always designed their engines with a short stroke. Honda engines love to rev and make HP up in the higher RPM region. Torque is a function of stroke in a gas engine. The longer the stroke the greater the ability to product torque. I would imagine your Grand PrixGTP has a long stroke motor. Most American cars favor torque over HP. Hence big lazy American V8s.
