Dodge that's been sitting for 4 years

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It's a Dodge ram I want to say 1500, pickup none
the less. It's my disabled dad's truck and it's been
sitting for a couple years. He repaired some stuff
the mechanics at a shop told him was wrong with
it but none of the things that were changed fixed it.
And then his back went out on him so it's been
sitting ever since. It'll start and run for a minute but
sounds like crap. I plan on taking it to a shop to fix
the major problem. But I know I need to put some
work into it to keep cost down. I know the oil needs
to be drained and changed and the gas too but
what other things would need to be changed to get
it back to normal? Anything helps. Thank you
