Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1999 e-320 jerks when going from reverse to drive and stays in low gear sometime to
the point I have to Change gears manually to get it to change on its own. This only
happens first thing in the morning. When the car warm up it will works perfectly. I had
Mercedes to change fluid replace air mass sensor,in STK. Pilot bushing, sell
rings.vlru.now they say it needs a shifter, why does it work perfect when its hot?

Start with the torque converter in the gearbox. It's rare for them to go wrong but it has been known.
