Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my 74 chevy pick up. used to crank over and the brake lite would light up!
that's before I crossed the yellow and purple wites that go to the terminals on
the starter solenoid.I rebuild the starter and I checked it.and it does crank the
350 only when you jump it from under the truck.but wont crank over from the
"KEY"!!! so what wires did I fry?
