Question type: General

I am trying to find out why it appears that the differential in my Comet is off
set and if it comes from factory off set what is it off set by and how best to
remedy it to help with clearance re wheels and tyres.

If the wheel clearance doesn't look right, then something is out of adjustment. I think that model had rear leaf springs and they can be installed cockeyed or shift if the U bolts were not torqued and retorqued after replacement. It probably steers really bad too. Have someone drive behind you and see the car not going straight.
