Overdrive on or off

So I'm somewhat confused on the 1999 Dodge
Ram 1500 3.9 to do I need to have the overdrive
button highlighted or lit in the off position?

James, I believe the overdrive will default to on when you turn the vehicle off. under most circumstances and most driving you will just leave it alone. the trans knows what to do. If you were driving at low speeds a lot in hilly country, or maybe towing something or hauling a bit of a load, you might want to turn overdrive off, but most of the time it takes care of itself.
