Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need help with my 2001 dodge grand caravan. Its blowing black smoke from
the exhaust and its sputtering really bad. It will drive but it drives terribly and
only goes 20 mph. Please help. This is my only way of going.

From what info you gave I would have to say that motor is shot, used up. Its given you all it had. Black smoke means your burning oil.My first assumption would be piston rings, guess it could also be a head gasket, or a stuck valve. I would start by doing both a compression and leakdown test of all piston cylinders and go from there if they are all equally or close to, then its rings.
