Issue with ECM after engine switch

Asked by Feb 16, 2018 at 04:13 PM about the Dodge Durango

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I took a 4.7 eng from a 2001 Dodge Dakota, and put it in a 2002 Dodge
Durango.
No I have a bunch, of error codes.
1) Which computer should I use, the one w/ the engine (01) or the one with
the host vehicle (02).
2) can I just buy a new one? and if so...again same question...engine vin or
the host vehicle vin?
