Security Malfunction

Asked by idahotahoe Apr 15, 2010 at 08:39 PM about the Chevrolet Tahoe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

recently my tahoe won't start, had it towed, tech reset the computer, gave me instructions as how to override this issue; turn on without starting for 11 minutes. off for 30 seconds; repeat.   This works.   What and where is this issue located?  tilt wheel, ignition etc..........

this is related to the passlock module, which is part of the ignition cylinder assembly (passlock sensor part of the ignition housing)...it's either a worn passlock sensor or worn transponder (part of the key). intermittent condition. 10 minute relearn procedure involves leaving key on for 10 minutes until security indicator stops flashing.

I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe. When I used my remote start to start engine. It started then shut off where I had to start the car manually. My security started blinking and then remained on in which now my headlights do not work.. my dome lights don’t work and the override does not work. My husband replace the relay switch and light switch. Still nothing. Please help me so I can be able to drive my car at night
