changing rear ends gu2 to gu6 .

a real newbie here. can I swap a gu2 to a gu6 rear end with out harming trany. 1988 Silverado 2 wd

Wont hurt the transmission as long as the angles of the driveshaft at the pinion and transmission tail shaft remain about the same.
