how to access speedometer behind speedometer on a 1978 Silverado?

There is only only one speedometer, it is not a two piece unit, you have to remove the instrument cluster and seperate the halves to gain access to the unit. While your there you better either lube or replace the speedo cable especially if you had speedo needle bounce before tear down.
