You don't state how long its been between the time the accident damage was repaired and the tach going out. If its been a considerable time, the insurance company will consider it non-accident related and, therefor, not covered. As others stated above, first go back to the repair shop and have a diagnostic done. it could be as simple as reconnecting a wire. So, start there. If its a more elaborate repair, get an estimate. If the tach defect is related to the accident, have the repair shop write a brief note explaining that this is an after-discovered accident-related defect. Sch a statement can often help, especially if the repair shop is an insurance company preferred shop. If all else fails and the tach problem is accident related and the insurance company stil refuses to pay, go to small claims court. Its fast, easy and the normal rules of evidence and procedure are suspended. In other words, the insurance company loses most of its advantage in court. Good luck.
