Why is my battery light still on after i struggle to take key out of the ignition?

I am struggling to take my key out of my chevy S
10.....also after i struggle to take the key out of the
ignition my battery light will STAY ON!! :( IT'S like
my key doesn't turn my truck completely off!!

It's not a blazer it's a 2002 Chevy S 10.

You say you struggle with the lock assembly to get the key out. It may be that it needs to be replaced. The lock assembly may not be moving all the way internally, to make the proper contacts to the ignition switch to turn everything off.
