The 4 center cylinders get extremley hot after a short time of running.

I have a '57 chevy with a '72 350 chevy s.b. supercharged with 2 580 holleys
it has a mallory ign. system engine gets very hot after a short period of time at
idle. Also the 4 center cylinders get very hot [headers tubes] are turn red.
Suggestions??

Put some seafoam in the in the header where the oil dip stick is so it can cycle through the engine. That will make everything run a lot smoother then make sure the radiator has enough coolant in it. Also check the water pump
