My alarm light is not flashing and the key will not manually open the door

I checked the batteries in the key and they are good. The last time my battery was stone dead the key worked manually WTF

try the key again. It HAS to work. The battery or alarm may malfunction but a manual key is just that, manual. Goodluck. Sorry my response could not be more definite.

I was told the key had to work.It moves in both directions and engages nothing. Next suggestion????
