Asked by Alison Jul 12, 2013 at 03:27 PM about the Honda Accord

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What is the approx. cost of the following repairs parts + labor?
1. Main Relay on electronic fuel injection 2.Clogged EGR relay on converter
3. catalytic converter replacement 4.new fuel pump 5.new ignition distributor 6.new
ignition switch.
I am considering repair rather than buying a new car, but Blue Book is only $1400 on
my Accord. Please help me make an educated decision.  Thanks

You're likely looking at $600+ in parts alone, and a couple hundred more for labor, add it all up and you're already well over half the car's value. It's your choice to spend all this on your car but personally I wouldn't spend this amount of money on an old Accord.

who did all this diagnosin? A garage? Didn't they give you a quote? All this repairin' doesn't add up- somethin' smells fishy to me- is the car broken? what's the symptoms? is somebody just doin' a lot of guessin?

Cargurus.com reply did the diagnosis. My Honda runs, but it shuts down whenever it feels like it...like when I'm going 70 in the passing lane on the freeway. Not too safe. What say you?
