Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My G35 coupe will not start if its been sitting for more then 2 days, i put a new battery in the day after i bought it because it tested bad. Ive also have replaced both window motors and the drivers side door electric regulator or window & Lock swich, I can not get my trunk to open up at all, i bought the car 4 months ago with 100k on it. Also i the bose system would sound amazing but mind sounds ok i guess but i cant get the cd out of it, when i bought the car thats another thing the guy did not tell me about so i cant play cd's, would any of these issues have anything to do with my battery going dead? Everything is pretty much stock as well as the alarm and key fobs.. I need help!!!
Thank you, MickeysG

Hi Tom, Well i figured there is some type of draw but ive been also fixing little things at a time thinkinhg that may have been the problem.. Take my window switch for example i had to beat on the door thinking it was my motor so i changed it and nothing happened, still went dead but then i noticed the switch itself in the door panel everytime i would touch thats when i took it out it would make a weird noise and then i noticed that all the wires were loose that plugs into the switch... I had to use some pressure and it snapped, like locking it into place and the wires were now tight and its going up and down fine now except i need to reset the motor to get in sink with the everything.. So i wasted my money buying a window switch because the little white wire harnes thing was not snapped in place like it should have been and now in thinking the switch wires may have been making the car go dead? Idk yet i have not let it sit for 2 days yet as i just did this fix yesterday. The dealer has been nothing but a smart ass pain who thinks im rich and im far from that so im trying things like this and with help of good people like you.. Im good with cars but electrical IM NOT! Thank you for the help my friend! MickeysG

I had this problem and it was one of the dear motors. We felt around under the seat and the motor was hot even with the car turned off. We unplugged the seat motor and the battery did not go down any more

As far as the trunk, I have a switch in my glove box that locks it. And it will not open till you flip the switch. Lol son found it.

If you still have the factory Bose cd changer in the car and the cd carrier will not eject. Remove the changer and amp for the car completely. Reason being the unit will constantly draw power as a parasitic draw. Unless you start and drive car every day the battery will not start the car .

Your problem is bare wires in the trunk lid boot, and let unchecked other wires will break there too and burn in the harness, most trunk lid problems are in that boot, a broken trunk actuator wire. I am now replacing my passenger side body wiring harness with a used one and will need to check the used one for that same problem before that one burns up too. If you are luck you only have one broken wire and can repair it, then your Trunk should work again and you hopefully will hold a charge for more than 2 days.

When you changed out the "DRIVERS SIDE LOCK MECHANISM" .... Your key has a chip in it that communicates with the immobilizer ring around the lock cylinder, which then tells your cars computer that its ok to start the car. Your divers side door lock mechanism as well communicates with the computer. So even though you have the key (w/ programmed chip) the drivers side door lock may unlock but no longer recognizes the key. This is because you changed it. So that new drivers side lock mechanism is not as well being recognized by you cars computer. So the door lock, the Immobilizer and chip in your key all have to be programmed and recognized by ( what I believe is called an ECU) computer. So you have to put the original door lock back in or have a shop make sure the new one is programmed and recognized or else NOTHING you try and fix or replace will make that car start. I would fact check everything that I just explained with the a technician mechanic just to verify its correct. But i'm pretty certain of it. I would call Nissan Dealership and talk to one of their technicians to double check.

.... IF IT DOES START BUT BATTERY DIES..... THEN ITS NOT THE LOCK MECHANISM LIKE I EXPLAINED ABOVE.... "YOU HAVE A BAD ALTERNATOR!!!!!" your alternator is not charging your battery when it runs... it drains and will drain any and all batteries you try putting in there. THAT WILL FIX YOU STARTING AND DEAD BATTERY SITUATION.
