Adding A/C coolant

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm looking for the accumulator on my sc300 so I can add air conditioner coolant. Can anyone give me a clue? (I don't have a manual for it.) Thanks!

stand on passenger side with hood open, look next to firewall about 6 inches down from top of engine and adjacent to exhaust - should have yellow/white protective cap on bright metal fitting on tube - find it with engine cool, then attach filler bottle with sealant and built-in pressure gauge to fitting, start engine, run AC for 10 minutes and note pressure occasionally. Add coolant until pressure well into yellow on gauge. Should have immediate results. Note date and track hours with AC on - check pressure after 2, 5, and 10 hours of operation, then find and fix the leak by evacuating the system, adding dye, and repairs. Hope it is not the compressor - expensive and hard to R&R .......... JO
