Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The power lock on my driver's door failed and I cannot unlock or open the door. Lexus/Toyota dealers tell it will cost $800+ to fix becuase the only way to open the door is to take the iterior panel off from the inside.

did they tell you its because of a door lock actuator? you should still manually be able to open and unlock the door from the inside with a failed actuator because there are still cables attached to the interior handle and lock. but yes, to fix the issue, the door panel must be removed along with a other things after that such as a plastic sheet must be peeled back and then work can be performed.

Try unlocking door manually and closing door while holding door handle in. That work for me today. Will see what tomorrow brings Thank you Jesus ! Jtabbs
