Odometer not working on my 79 Lincoln town car

The odometer on my town car recently
stoppedworking. The speedometerworks
just fine, But it's not recording mileage any
longer. What do you recommend that I do?

These cars have had problems with the connections at the back of the insturment panel. Check the speed sensor on the transmission, may be dirty or bad.

I am taking it back in today. I recently purchased it, and the speedometer was shaky. I had the shop lubricate the speedo cable, and the odometer stopped working. (This car sat for a long time, and only has 7700 miles). Could something have been left disconnected? Like I said, the speedo needle is working great now, but just no odometer
