I just left the Jeep dealer with a similar issue. Highway speeds, load whizzing noise from passenger side lower windshield. It started about 2 weeks ago and the car is a year old with 18300 miles. Dealer said there is nothing that can be done to fix it and the car is operating as it was designed!!! The noise is so loud that you cannot speak over it. They calmly explained that the car was designed to operate under headwinds since that's "99%" of the conditions you drive under....the problem only exists under crosswind and is coming from the windshield wiper operating as designed. There is no fix. They weren't concerned. I called 1-800-Chrysler and they parroted exactly what the dealer told me. I asked to speak with the supervisor which of course is a 24 hr window. I have issue with #1 'no fix', #2 the car has 18300 miles on it and I just moved out of OKLAHOMA!!! No, never any wind there....yet I never had an issue until I moved to Utah??? PLEASE call the 800 number and enter a complaint. They need to fix THEIT DESIGN FLAW. I did not pay $58k for my Grand Cherokee Summit Diesel to not be able to talk inside.... Ridiculous!!!

THIS same noise just showed up on my 2015 Grand CHerokee Lim v6 with 31,500. I'm noticing that the black plastic bracket that also hold the rubber gasket against the windshield is now LOOSE as the rectangular plugs that fit into the side of the wall under the hinges are both out of their "hole" in the framing . SInce this is worse at high speeds and also in a crosswind, and is REALLY IRRITATING. Enough to MAKE ME CHOOSE A DIFFERENT CAR NEXT TIME. (MUCH sooner than my last 99 Grand Cherokee that I had til this 2015.....) JEEP are you listening. ? Anyway, i'm going to see if I cant figure out a way to brace the ends and perhaps the clips in the middle that slide onto the firewall. Good Luck.

Have the same problem with my 2013 Grand Cherokee Limited. So irritating!! When I reach about 40 miles an hour, the windshield hums, loudly. It started when the Cherokee had 45,000 miles on it. I'm so embarrassed when I have passengers. No fix?? So, now what?

I am having the same issue with my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have had my windshield replaced 3 times in the past 2 weeks. I looked up the issue on YouTube and came across the answer. It sounds like it could possibly be the windshield cowl.

I too have had the buzzing problem with a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The rubber Cowl where it meets the windshield was rotting away by about 1/4 inch at the top. I stripped away about 1/2 inch of the rubber and cleaned the windshield, making sure it was dry. Then we used Flex Tape...amazing stuff...and sealed the cowl to the windshield. Be careful to keep the new tape below where the windshield wipers will hit. Be careful in installing the tape as it is extremely sticky and this will require two people to hold the tape across the windshield. Start at one end and very carefully lay the tape, stripping off the film backing, until the entire top of the cowl where it meets the windshield is sealed. Because the windshield is curved you will end up with a small "bump" or bubble and that will require a cut and then reseal. This has been a perfect solution for us. We are in Florida so the heat really made the seal nice and secure.

I have the same issue only after replacing the windshield. The lower balance tends to warp from the sun and heat. We are attempting to use a glue and Re-glue the rubber seal to the windshield to stop that awefull buzzing

I have that same awful loud noise happening after replacing my windshield in my 2014 GC. Dealership is replacing the molding/gasket/cowl, they said that should do it. Fingers crossed.

I have a 2015 and replaced the windshield and the band. Still have the wind problem. I will try the cowl fix

Nola, how much was it to replace the entire cowl? If you don’t mind me asking. I have a 2014 GC with the same issue.

Replacing the cowl cost about $360 and it was totally worth it. It feels like a new car and I am back to loving my GC!

So the answer to the problem is it’s the plastic Cal underneath the windshield wipers it was a bad design and wind gets underneath the cow and causes loud humming sound. Jeep literally change the design in 2017 and it no longer happens they are very much aware of the problem they just do not want to spend the money or the time to fix. I am an auto glass installer and come across this problem all the time

If you happen to have to get your windshield replaced make sure you tell the installer yes they shoot at least a 2 inch high V bed on the bottom and not press down to set the glass. Let the weight of the glass set the bottom itself. Boom problem will be solved

Same issue on my 2014 GC, I cleaned the plastic / rubber cowl under the windshield and then applied Gorilla Tape along the entire lower windshield . Noise stopped immediately Problem solved for $5 .

The front windshield noise is so irritating that I am going to trade it in and never buy a GC again. This should be a Recall by Jeep.

Tried the fix recommended with the gorilla tape and it stopped it immediately Five dollars and five minutes no more noise

It is the cowl panel, I am almost sure. And that thing warps with heat and hence the noice. I have changed it at 55K Kilometers and now at 108K kilometers. And this shit costs around 200$

GuruNLD7M has the Flex tape held up? Guru94WKJ2 and Guru994GNR has the gorilla tape held up?
