looking at options of upgrading from a 2.4 litre petrol 4 cylinder to either a V6 or V8 petrol for my 2005 Jeep Cherokee

Asked by George Jan 12, 2016 at 10:57 PM about the Jeep Cherokee

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

i had bought the cherokee 4 months ago which appeared in good working
order...unfortunately on a long trip had lost oil ...it somehow escaped from
the actual dip stick tube it has broken free from the engine base i didnt
even get a warning light  then the engine started to make knocking sounds
so pulled over called a tow truck the engine still had some oil in it ...so it
looks like the motor now needs reconditioning .just wondering how involved
is it to repair or upgrade to a bigger engine and if possible to fit a bigger
engine to the same gearbox even to use adapter plates ?

1 Answer

sorry guys my mistake its a 2004 model not sure what initials it is but its definitely a 2,4 liter 4 cyl engine i think a second hand motor would be the best option money wise just need to know where to get one?
