Will a 5 speed standard transmission from a 2000 Pontiac sunfire with a 2.2litre engine fit a 2.2 litre engine from a 2005 Pontiac sunfire

the 5 speed transmission in the 2005 will not go into 3rd gear but otherwise works great

Probably has a broken 3rd gear synchronizer. The transmission will either need to be rebuilt or replaced to solve the issue. I am not sure if the transmissions will swap between 2000 and 2005.
