Key got stuck in ignition

Asked by GuruR7TVH Feb 17, 2020 at 12:09 PM about the Pontiac Grand Prix

Question type: General

My key got stuck in the ignition, I put the key in
went to turn it on and it got jammed in between
turning fully on and taking the key out, it turned on
for a split second, but got locked up and turned off.
I wasn’t able to take the key out and I wiggled and
wiggled, I had some help and we found the quick
release under the steering wheel for the key, but
again nothing happened. It took about thirty
minutes then we though it might be the battery
even though I had my battery replaced less than
two years ago, I got out the car and opened the
hood and when we came back to jump it, I opened
my door and the lights came on and my keys was
release and was able to start my car. I drove home
and when I went to automatically lock my doors
they wouldn’t lock, so I went to put my key back in
to see if’d turn on and seemed like it was almost
getting stuck, and but I was able to turn it on then
off and my locks locked automatically again. I’m
not sure what the issues is please help any answers
please I’m taking it to a mechanic tomorrow.
