loud engine?

my pontiac g6 runs great, but just seems to be really loud, especially when i get
over 50 mph... possible transmission or engine troubles? any help would be
better than none!

Most likely is an exhaust issue. A hole in the pipe, muffler or cat converter is the place to look.
