PVC pipe, hose clamps, and a filter.

Im surpised you can't find one. Check ebay, youll find one for cheap there. I have rocked multiple Ebay cold air intakes. The only difference is the filter and the brand name. Everything else is just belt steel, hose clamps and rubber connnectors.

Some eBay parts are absolute junk. Cheap plastic then bends and folds when it's clamped. They may have cheap parts, but steer clear of eBay only brand parts. If it is a recognizable name it will probably be ok.

build a housing around the air filter and ram air it...you'll get similar if not better air mixture as if you put a cold air intake on...and it's cheap. get a chunk of dryer vent tubing and take off the stock cover for your air filter. run the dryer tube to where your fog lights go and you're set; oh, helpful tip, make a new tube for your mass air sensor that does a 90 going toward the front of your truck...this way the engine will pull more air (because it thinks it is getting less)

i've been looking for the last couple days and I cant find a pre-fabbed system for anything older than a 95 ranger. so he may not be a cheap prick as you call him, he might just be in the same situation as me.

I havnt found any made for my truck but i went to home depot got some black pvc pipe, a pvc fitting, and a rubber fitting. Then i went to auto parts shop and got a 5 dollar cone style air filter. cost me 20 bucks all together and its kinda redneck but i definitely got more horses out of it..

because of where your filter is located it becomes a hot air intake when you close your hood. add more tube to get it to where it will draw cold air. if you are going to work on vehicles you need to have something called common sense.i live by the old addige, if you are going to do something do it wright. or dont do it at all!

make sure you draw in cold air. most "cold air intakes" are in fact hot air intakes...which lose power. hence why K&N intakes or anything similar are typically giant pieces of garbage.
