truck just whines and feels/sounds like clutch is broken, but moves fine in 4 wheel low? try moving it in 2 wheel, just whines and bangs? transfer case?
driving truck home on highway, it started bucking, and I could feel a jarring banging at my feet...it started to whine and slip, and I had to downshift...banged a few more times, I got off the highway, and was only able to drive it home in 4 wheel low.

in 4 low you have a lot of torque on hand to keep going when maybe you shouldnt be. I would be checking the oil in the tranny, rear end and transfer case, i would start by jacking the rear end up and turning the drive shaft over in neutral, hopefully you just have a bad u joint thats making something jump around, but the sounds of it it might be really serious tranny type trouble or some broke in the clutch
I took the transfer case out and opened it up and there was metal shavings in it, There was definatly something wrong with something, I think called a "fork" the metal had been ground down on it, and also a couple of rings that the bearings sit in where missing a few little pieces...I am going to replace the transfer case...hopefully I did not damage anything else
i am guessing you will be ok, it would be a good time to replace the u joints to the front end while its easy to get to. tranfer cases can be kind of hard to locate. seems like that kind of stuff nevers get greased or checked out as often as a person should
