If it is a Gen 1 you have to pull up the vent panel of the dashboard and peep through the windshield above the passenger side airbag. There is a sticker on a cream colored box with the code on it.

WRONG,it is at 1 of 2 places, open rear hatch, look on both sides if not their, pull down carpet at brake peddle, you will see it on the modgel,is a small white sticker with black numbers, this is the code,it is NOT reprogramable.this is the only 2 places ford puts the code.

Papa, we are talking about a Sport Trac, NOT a regular Explorer. Sport Tracs do not have a "rear hatch". I have read a project on another Sport Trac website that has pictures and shows exactly what I am talking about.
