Question type: Maintenance & Repair

02 ford excursion the small hot line to the rear air has been leaking due from rock chips.  draining freon out the low side under the hood.  Did not realize the cheap gauge set doesnt allow the high side to open.  so it  didn't allowing the rear ac line drain until I cut the small pipe to splice.  as the freon now spaying out the I heard a click noise by the drier where the 2 vapors lines meet for front and rear..   aft, repair and evac charged.. can't not get any return vapor from rear, as i was filling with 134 heard the click again probably around 50 psi. what is the click noise and need to check the door blend and txv block in back for and charge in temp. also, what I weighted in maybe too muck.

The click you heard is the low pressure or cycling switch. It signals when to engage or disengage the compressor clutch to prevent freeze-up of the evaporator(s). Also prevents the system from running when it's empty.
