05 Ford Escape Transmission Issues

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 05 Escape XLT 2WD will only move in drive 1 and reverse but this happened all of a
sudden I can crank it and let it run to charge the battery and all and I move it around once
in a while; but, now my O/D light is flashing... Please give me some advice as to what is
going on... I have a lot of mechanics telling me it's the transmission but I want a second
opinion... I also have a few saying it could be other things... shed some light on this...

Have you tried,and sound,s like you have nothing to lose,replace filter and fluid,leave fluid a quart low,and add some transmedic,in to it,may help,but can,t hurt.

Just wondering if u ever found out what the issue was with ur escape cause mine is having the same issue now

Mine inly engages the gear in 1, 2, and drive if Im akready moving and rev to ~4.5k rpm. I believe it's the transmission solenoid s located directly under the the car( in the oil pan ) Once I find replacement solenoid s for less than 4bills I will attrmpt replacing them and we'll see...
