Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am looking for a Ford E350, 15 passengers Van. New or Used car for our company.
But our company is located in Montreal and I am wondering is it possible to buy from US. I would like to know about Tax and procedure.

Would you send me information of your lists.

Thank you

Hashimoto

Hi Hashimoto, CarGurus does not sell vehicles so we are not aware of the tax implications of buying a vehicle in US and having it shipped to Canada. You will want to ask a dealership or registry of motor vehicles the proper procedure for bringing the vehicle to Canada.

Hashimoto, you can buy a used van in the US, but NOT a new one- franchise laws between the 2 countries do not allow this. you don't pay tax in the US (unless there is a local tax there that must be paid) but you will when you get it home- it takes 3-5 days to get the vehicle across the border because it has to be inspected- also, make sure the paperwork is all filled out correctly- your local department of motor vehicles should be able to give you a guide on the process.
