Sorry, I tried this question before but was not clear enough. We have a 2002 Ford E-150 Conversion van with 4.6 engine. The transmission is out. We expected to run to the junkyard and pick one up however, are being told only the 2001-2003 E150 van would be compatible, for which the only trans is in a vehicle with over 350,000 miles on it. So, when we do some research, we find that according to the Ford repair manuals at http://www.autorepairmanuals.biz/page/374067 our vehicle has a transmission model 4r70w. Further, we then check other models and find that this is a fairly common Ford transmission that is also used in the E250, E350, Expedition, etc for varrying years. So, the question is, when we are on our search, as these are the same model transmission, would they all be fair game and compatible or are we missing something else? 1 Answer

I have a 2013 Ford focus SE HATCHBACK that has the recalls on the transmission, I took it to the local dealer as we have begun experiencing the shudder and loss of power and the dealer just called stating it is the actuators which of course are not under the recall and said it is going to cost $2,500 and that it may not fix the problems and may have to be brought back of the shudder isn't fixed. I don't have that kind of money laying around and do not know what to do or if they are trying to rip me off which to me is what it sounds like. HElp!!!!! 10 Answers

Our 2003 Expedition just shuts off as we are driving. We have taken it in for repair, but no one can find a problem with it. This is frightening because the power steering and brakes don't work when it shuts itself off. 7 Answers
