2001 Ford E-150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have just bought and installed a new battery and
alternator for my 2001 Ford E-150 Econoline van.
For some reason my battery light keeps flickering
on for a few seconds, then turns off. I'm not sure
what is going on. Had the alternator and battery
checked and the guy at O'Reilly said that the
alternator was not charging. It's brand new so I
don't understand. I am hoping to avoid pulling it out
and replacing it, but if I have to I will. Help!!!!

The charging is controlled by the instrument cluster if it's bad it could cause this problem but make sure all the wiring is plugged up behind the cluster and at the altanator and battery and if there is an altinator fuse make sure it's good
