Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck starts, runs good for 30 minutes or so
and quits. Want start back right away.
Sometimes it takes an hour before it'll start
sometime the next day. Its throwing 0401
code. I've replaced fuel filter and get valve
but still want start or will start and run a
little while and quit and not start back

P0401 FORD - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected... Possible causes... - EGR passage clogged - Faulty EGR Vacuum Modulator Valve - Faulty EGR Valve - Faulty EGR solenoid valve - EGR solenoid valve harness is open or shorted - EGR solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection - Dead (Weak) battery - Faulty EGR temperature sensor and circuit - Exhaust gas leaks Some tech notes:.. EGR flow malfunction could be caused by a clogged EGR valve or EGR tube. Before replacing any parts try cleaning the EGR valve, tube and passages. If the tubes are clean you may have to replaced the EGR Pressure sensor to fix the problem. Besides above description, the Ignition Control Module can cause the not start, or hard start. It can be checked at Auto Zone.

K thanks man I'll try cleaning it good. Lotta shadetreeers are trying to get me to replace the fuel pump. I'm not even a shade tree mechanic. I'm just to broke to pa someone else to fix it lol. Thans for the feedback

Not suspecting the fuel pump at this point, nothing is pointing to that, throwing a code points you into the right direction to fixing a problem. ICM can have these same symptoms, thats why I mentioned it.

K I'm thinking it ignition control. Want even start with starting fluid till it cools

my 90 blazer had the same problem then the fuel pump went out replaced that now its good
