Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Battery was shot so we put a new battery in.
As soon as the bartery was hooked up the
truck started by itself. The truck does not
have remote start and he had the key in his
pocket. The truck then died and started
again. It did this 3 times the 3rd time it
stayed running so he got in put the key in
the ignition and turned it to start position
and back to off and pulled the key out.
Meen while the truck still running. With
ignition in off position and key out he was
able to reverse the truck and drive forward.
He then tried the key again start position to
off and it turned off. I'm confused on what's
going on its never done anything like it
before and I've also never heard of that
happening
